 |
|
Anyone out there with a Hornet 600 care to share what sort of range I can expect from a full tank of petrol?
Fairly new to bikes and am missing my fuel gauge!
TIA

Thanks for the replies guys - SteveH, that is one good link! Everything you need to know about the Hornet is there!
However, 75 miles before reserve and 35mpg? Is this about average for a modern 600?

It's pretty poor to be honest.
I get approximately 130ish miles out of my TT600 before the reserve light appears.

The Hornet is well known for it's poor range but you don't buy a Hornet for it economy. I think the average is 35 / 38mpg and a range of around 170ish ____________________ Too skint to buy a bike |

Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to tank her up and run her to reserve and then post what I range I get! (Without taking into account the reserve).
75 miles seems poor and the Hornet does appear to be renowned for a poor range but if I can manage 90 then i'll be chuffed!

Keep us informed - I have been seriously thinking about getting a hornet so I would be very interested to see the results you get. ____________________ Sticks and stones may break my bones but leather and chains excite me! |

Hello All - just reporting in on the range of my Hornet! Sorry it's taken a few days! I have run it to reserve - (twice just to make sure).
The bike is a 1998 Hornet and the only mod I know of it having is the Micron can that came with it.
First run - 105miles
Second run - 104.7miles
The style of riding and journeys varied - commuting, a couple of rides out and a few short runs too.
Well chuffed! ____________________ '98 Hornet 600 - Tahitian Blue - 'tis very nice!!!
