Anyone know of a decent m/cycle mechanic local to Wokingham in Berks. I want to have someone look at my R1 with a view to maybe getting some engine work done Question

Yeah, I know where they are. Just around the corner from me, never used them though. Do you recommend them?

Not unless you want a turbo fitted or fancy having your engine clubbed to death.

Hmm, turbo... best not. Don't fancy having my engine 'clubbed to death' either!

I work in Reading so know MTC too.

Unfortunately MTC tend to have a very long waiting list around at about now. If you don't mind booking well in advance though, they have got a good reputation.

Andy, a long waiting list is a good sign I would have thought.

What about PDQ in Slough?

Phats has a friend of the family that is a bike mechanic, may be worth dropping him a line. He did his latest service...

God, old names. MTC still in their old location on the oxford road? Rode down to swansea with one of the mechanics (absolute brainfart, can't remember his name, bought a ZZR1100 down there, turned it into a trike, I rode his Z1000 back up. Dean is ringing bells but not sure that was it), and spent much time asking Grubby pointless questions. He finally bribed me with a 750 turbo owners manual to leave the premises.
Big CC did alot of work on a blown GPz 750 motor for me, good quality (this was when they were in Bracknell, little industrial unit. Seem to remember hearing they had definitely moved) and pretty helpful in general.
All in all both establishments get a resounding Thumbs Up
/reminisce off

On a side note and a bit of a hijack, is Ian still tattooing?

MTC is good. They are quite expensive, but I wouldn't let anyone else touch my bike. They are really good. Smile

Yeah, but not in his own place. He went bankrupt a couple of years back and is now working at No Limits a bit further down Oxford Road. Klunky's opened up his own studio opposite Reading Station.

Klunky did my tattoo way back in 1997! Just had to say that.....I used to live in Reading myself (though only for a year!)
