Doesn't sound right, sounds like you were ripped off a bit...

oh, and this > . is a full stop, not a space. A space is the big long key nearest you on the keyboard.

I would demand the hours I paid for, he sounds slack.

Really does sound like you're being taken for a ride. What did the original day include? Was it advertised as a 1 day training course?

advertised as a 1 day cbt. No mention of any extra fees and the instructor said.there were 4 diffrent parts and we did almost 4 bits except the u turn, junctions, the 2 hour ride.

but it was only at the very end we was asked if we wanted to just do.our cbt or.the full test and i said just cbt as we dident wanna rush our full license so he says well its gonna be £33 and you will both need 4 hours each but your.both at diffrent stages.

i cant understand how we dident finish the full parts and be charged extra on top.of our cbt in.order to.finish. I would have understood if we wasent up to.scratch

If that was me I would be having words, not your problem they were late starting. Wouldn't hand any more money over if I were you. Hope it gets sorted.

way I see it, you're owed about 3-4 hours training as that is what you paid for, I would save that £33 and buy some English text books so you can learn how to spell and form sentences Thumbs Up

Would be interested to see the exact wording, but I'd be very surprised if they explicitly advertise as a one day course - plenty of people need a bit more time to complete it and if you're not safe to go on the road after the first day, you're not.

What I would question though is them asking for four hours extra money when the course started two hours late; on that basis I'd agree to pay the extra two but not all that they're asking.

Definitely sounds dodgy.

When I did my cbt in 2011 there was snow on the roads so I couldn't get out for the road riding element. The school were really good and let us practice a bit more in the yard then had us all back a week later for a full afternoon to go over the basics again before the road ride. No extra charge for any of us.

Definitely have a chat with them. No way you should spend more then the original cost of your cbt just to finish up what you didn't have time for, which was their fault in the first place Neutral

Well out of order, tell them you're not paying for 4 hours as it's their fault!

When I did my CBT we started an hour late and I needed to come back the next week just to do the two hour road ride. They were going to charge me for three hours more but when I mentioned we started late they just charged for the two hour road ride. Some places will charge a flat fee for the CBT, others will charge more if you need extra training. I would certainly get 2 hours knocked off the price if they started 2 hours late though.

When I did mine, started at 8.30 or so, finished at 3....guy with me had to come back, and CBT guy said, come back next week, you have paid for 8-5 so you have 2.30 hours in lieu and we will go from there.

CBT school sounds a bit dickish to be fair

If you require extra training, they aren't allowed to do it at any extra cost as far as I know.

To everyone telling him about use of full stops, I'm guessing he's using an android phone Laughing The full stops right next to the space bar and it's quite easy to press the wrong one when typing fast

It doesn't sound right, my CBT started at 8:30 and we were done by 3:30, I went and collected my bike at 4:00 from the local Yamaha dealers and rode it home:-)

120 sounds a bit steep aswell, it was about 75 on my first one and 90 on my 2nd one 2 years later, think it's about 100 now around these parts

Your CBT is your CBT, A days training that covers the basics to get you out on the road.

If your struggling with the basics or they are not confident in taking you for the 2 hour ride then and only then should they suggest additional training.

This company is taking the Piss!! Evil or Very Mad

Thing is though, it sounds like he/she was struggling with the basics. At the main school I worked for, we'd start at 9 and expect to have the playground stuff done by 1/1.30, then out on the road at 2.30.

Still having u-turns and junctions left to go at 4 is indicative that someone was struggling a bit and therefore extra training was the most appropriate option. Luckily the mob I worked for gave a second day free which took a lot of pressure off the students to get through in one day.

4 x £33 = £132, more than they charged for the truncated CBT.

I suggest that you tell them to get fucked, take your business elsewhere and get another full day's CBT for less, and rat them out to the DSA by emailing cbt@dsa.gsi.gov.uk
