Hmm, I'm guessing as I've previously booked a mod2 and moved the appointment forward when a cancellation came up.

I suppose if you have one on hold, you've done the transaction and maybe they'll email you with any free slots. Otherwise you'll have to check for availablility yourself which only takes a bit of persistence.

It might beat needing all your details and a spare 5 minutes to enter it all, every time you check for a slot.

Given the number of chances that you don't have, I wouldn't guess, I'd ask the DSA.

and be prepared to tell them your full name and address as it appears on your licence, your driver number and your date of birth, otherwise they send you an email back saying they can't talk to you as they can't see who you are.
even when you give them a general enquiry. Mad

In my case mine was on hold because the test was cancelled due to weather, but it took most of the morning to get through the Dsa's system (was calling them every 30 minutes to reschedule)

From what i recall on hold effectively means that they know youve paid them for the fee, but don't have a data set. if you wait they will allocate you some dates at the same test center, but they didnt know if your working etc, so guaranteed to need to shift it round.

I made a pest of myself that same day to find out what else was available , but at another test center, and got very lucky with another slot that worked out to be perfect.

i would do the same if i were you to get the date sorted ASAP, as i forsee lots of cancellations locally because of the ice/snow coming, and itll just cause more people to chase the same slots, which may still not happen because of the weather before jan 19th.
