It's been a long hard road coming but I've finally done it; I've passed my Mod 1 at long last.

To any riders attempting their Mod 1's before Jan 18th here's a bit of advice- relax. I threw away a pass on 3 attempts just due to nerves. It's obvious advice and I'm sure you've heard it before, but just take a deep breath, remind yourself why you're there taking the exam and go for it.

Here's hoping I can get my Mod 2 under my belt shortly after Christmas, Jan 18th sure is approaching fast.

Nice one. Yup, there's nothing hard about it.

Mod 2 cancellations come up all the time, I'm sure you should be able to bag one.

Is that because people book Mod 1 and 2 together and dont have the space between to cancel if need be?

I find that crazy, my instructor wouldnt allow me to do it!

Not necessarily, people book mod 2s with enough time to cancel after failing mod 1, and any mod 2 cancellation will free up a slot. It doesn't have to be a last minute one.

That said, I did get a mod 2 booked for the morning after my mod 1, so it's likely someone did get reamed on that.

You may be mistaking the nature of the employer / employee relationship.
