Hmm. I can see how it might work, but I don't think it's the best way of approaching it. Citing Geert Wilders as a potential architect of the idea doesn't really lend it any credibility, either.

Having said that, Holland's already got something of a reputation for applying unconventional social policies, so I'm content to sit back and watch what happens.

You would be condemning future generations to live there though.

Mummy why do we have to live here.

Because your Granddad played his Drum and Bass music too loud.

Granted, but it doesn't state anything about the permanence of the system.

Good.

The UK approach is just to keep shuffling everyone around to give a temporary hiatus in complaints until it kicks off again.

The fantasy is that if you put the Undeserving Poor in a decent area, they'll pull their socks up and knock off their monkey shines. The opposite happens, they just drag it down and soon the street is filled with both skylarking and lollygagging.

The idea of police supervision is an interesting one. There's a fine line between an estate being the major time sink for the local response units, and a no-go area. Put all the recidivists in one place, many of them career lags who are too lazy to go more than a few doors away to do their burglaries and muggings, and you may create a proper nightmare sci-fi stylee ghetto run by the gangs.

Still, it's nice to see somewhere else trying out a crackpot socialist scheme for a change. Thumbs Up

NL seems to be the home of such ideas. I still haven't forgiven them for inventing the speed camera.

They had something like this in Denmark it just ended up being run by the Angels and ended in wars.

That sort of thing sound fine put all the shit in one area .But they just spread out again or it ends up a no go area for the police.

Any one remember the broad-water farm.it should be a lessen.

I think you're thinking of Christiania in Copenhagen, which wasn't, wasn't and hasn't.

Thumbs Up
