I'm 24 and recently found an interest in motorbikes! Had and worked on cars since I was 16 but never had much desire to take my bike test until earlier this year. Got my theory and CBT done so far and my DSA is booked for the 17th-20th of this month Smile

What I'm really not to sure on is what bike to get when I do get on the road.

I'm unlikely to have the patience to save the money up for a bike so was thinking of going down the finance route. But still don't want to be spending more than 3k, the closer to 2k the better.

I guess a big factor on what bike to get is what I plan to do with it. I don't plan on riding all weathers or replacing my car as main transport, I occasionally drive from Yeovil back to my parents house so could be doing 100 mile motorway rides occasionally, the roads round here are nice and twisty so some gentle country side riding will deffinitly be happening!

Bikes I quite like the look of and am currently deep in thought about are;

2003+ Suzuki SV650, prefer the look of the fully faired ones

Yamaha FZ6, prefer the look of the naked version

What other bikes out there do people suggest?

How much have you got to spend? Below £3k, Hornet or ER6. Above £3k, Street Triple.
