I had an email the other day saying i needed to pay an extra 48 quid to my insurance company due to a claim made on the 29/04/12,
Apparently i have disclosed the claim as being non fault when it should have been a fault claim

I have never made such a claim i did make a claim on this date in 2010 but the insurers at the time said it wasnt my fault as someone knocked over my bike and left it on its side.

I have arrived home today to find a letter saying i will have my insurance cancelled on the 10th if i dont pay but dont see why i should as they have got there records wrong not me

Also i havnt ever recieved the email that said what the claim was on the 26th of november which they say they sent

so do i need to pay up or not ??

What kind of insurance did you have - TPO, FC? Did this someone leave their insurance details, and were you able to claim from their insurance?

The question that matters for insurance is who paid out. If your insurance company paid out, that's a claim, affects no-claims bonus, etc., even if it's someone else's "fault".

As they say, it's not a "no-fault" bonus, it's a no-claims bonus. Etc.

Are you sure it's from them and not a scammer? Sounds a bit fishy to me.

Just ring your insurer and talk to someone.

Did you Claim within the last five years?
Were you involved in an accident in the last five years.

If you answer no then you are going to be bum raped.

Unless you can prove you never asked someone to pay for the damage when you r bike was knocked over.

If you asked someone to pay for that and you did not recovery your 'uninsured loss' (Your policy Excess in event of ANY CLAIM) then you will have had a claim and this is recorded.

So you may have to practice touching your toes in preparation.

If innocent of all of the above then telephone/write and moan about it.

If you do nothing it is worse. If you respond it is then in 'dispute' which gives you some important legal ground to play on.

ive sent two emails to different claims handlers now

as i said i did have the accident in 2010 and claimed as the bike was nearly a write off

i had to claim on my insurence then but the company i was with
(a local insurance broker) sorted it out the bike was taken away and when i went to renew the policy said there was a non fault claim

i changed companys as ebike were a hell of a lot cheaper and had a year with no problems

i renewed in june this year and now have had this email and then a letter from ebike

i dont seem to get a proper reply and dont get to phone from work and its too late when i finish

and as they are saying i claimed in april this year i think they have fucked up somwere
