For example;

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-Yamaha-YZF750R-STREET-FIGHTER-PX-welcome-Bike-car-W-H-Y-/251189502833?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3a7c0fa371

The first line has already pissed me off. I feel like a kid being told of by a teacher. He's flogging a below average machine, he will receive offers.

Fact of the matter is that's been on ebay for a couple of months IIRC.

Same goes when calling dealerships. I have called 2 dealers so far this week to inquire about a motorbike, to be met with a stinking miserable attitude which instantly left me feeling ""go fuck yourself then" after I hung up.

Must be the time of year. Miserable bastards.

I will message him through ebay and offer him fifty quid. What is a toshi exhaust? It has to much power for him, yet he will happily swap it for a sports bike in the 600cc - 750cc range?

The headlights insulted me tbf.

I have money burning in my pocket, finding a motorbike that's actually good value is proving difficult Confused .

Looks horrible. I think he is appealing to the pink-pound community. Smile

that is a horrible bike! Also I massively agree on the opening line, as soon as I read that I'm like ok bye!
Keep looking you'll find you're bike, maybe broaden your horizons in terms of how far you're willing to travel.
I look on ebay, autotrader and pistonheads.. etc

It's endemic, there are loads of mentals out there who don't really want to sell their bike and think they're doing you a favour by offering it.

Troll them or stay away, you're not getting their bike either way.

That clapped out crashed mess - sorry, "streetfighter" - can you imagine trying to declare all that to an insurer?

I've found the same with dealers over the last two winters. No contact back, no interest in, you know, selling a bike. My theory is that they go into hibernation and try and survive on selling gloves and neck tubes until Spring.

Talking of dealerships car sales places are the same. If I go in a showroom I don't get pounced on any more, you can look around cars and it's like they're not interested in selling anything they just sit around chatting and drinking tea. I used to get annoyed that they wouldn't leave you alone but now I see why cos it seems like they just don't care about making sales!

Someone needs to make a public service announcement outlining how pulling the front fairings off a dropped bike and fitting a crappy headlight surround does not make a bike a streetfighter.

Guy's plainly deluded if he thinks a knackered Yammy with 41k miles and missing fairings is worth £1,300 anyway.

He should have taken that one.

Why did you offer more than £4.77, you crazy fool - you might have ended up owning it!

I didn't see the offer of £4.76 before I posted. I really, really wanted a bike with a toshi exhaust and got caught with a touch of bidders fever. Embarassed

That is a joke!
I like this:
Quote:
XJS, Porsche, Dutton, spitfire, SD1, etc

As long as they are road worthy (rolling restoration ok)

WHY, never know, I may not eve thought about what you may have and could surpise you.

WITH PX vehicle has to be of lesser or of same value of my bike , cash my way only.
My uncle has an SD1 sat on his drive that cost nearly 2K 2 years ago, was immaculate and is now just stored, would easily be worth more to a realist.

Where are you looking?

I've focused on bikes around 1K for buying in Jan, and in 1 week found a handful of bargains all within 60miles.

1 x 99R6 needing a polish up. £1300
1 x 00R6 needing a front light & tyre. £1100
1 x CBR6 needing a bit of work & T/T. £300
1 x NC23 ready to ride away today. £1K.

That's just what I've actually considered and quoted for.
All delivered. Thumbs Up

I'm keeping my mind open, I could buy a 250cc offroad or a 1000cc superbike. Aslong as its around the £600-900 mark and the seller isn't a moron then I'm onto a winner. I don't mind traveling either, I have done for my previous bikes. Thumbs Up

Are you selling something dom?
