Freeze them, this kills the bacteria that produces the stink.

Seal them in a plastic freezer bag, andpop them in the freezer overnight. Make sure they are dry before you put them in.

This will kill the bacteria that cause the smell.

Coat your hand liberally in an alcohol based gel and then put the gloves on, I'd wager that'll help.

I cover 25~30k a year and my gloves never have a problem with being smelly, the stink is coming from bacteria so you may need to wash your hands more often, or give them a squirt of alcohol rub just before you go for a ride.

yeah - try not furkle around in your nether regions all the time. Apparently it can lead to something they call stench magnification when allowed to fester in a warm glove.

Pasteurise them in the microwave - just be careful to time it right so the plastic bits don't melt!

The freezer will put the bacteria in a dormant state.

It's the sweaty hand more than anything, alcohol gel won't stop your hands sweating.

It'll help stop the bacteria thriving and making the smells though.

Thats true that is. I know a scientist who analyzed penguin shit and she knows this.

I would just wash them coz they are rubbish the way they are anyway.

As abuv.. Alcohol and let dry. Or simply wash in Nikwax and let dry.
Gloves are things that are subjected to moisture so getting a good soaking won't hurt them.
Dry them slowly though as heat from a rad will shrink the fiber of leather and make them too wee.

When dry rub in some hand cream or a dedicated leather treatment. Preferably a waterproofing one.

I've only ever found one pair of glove stank than was some cheapo Frank Thomas ones. All my more expensive gloves are fine.

I washed mine then Froze them, this worked a treat. However the smell did come back.

Weegie Distillerys Ltd: Special Reserve Purple Whisky?

My £20 ebay winter gloves kinda smell like something died in them too, I was wondering about throwing them in the wash with my next towels load?

I had this problem with my old gloves. The smell was awful, almost like vinegar, and no amount of fabreeze would shift it. Was going to try the freezing trick but suddenly the gloves stopped smelling and the smell never came back Confused Oh well, new gloves for christmas so it's all good Cool
