Ok. Where to start.

I've started my first ever bike project and thought I'd give start with the first bike I ever had (after passing my test many moons ago) a trusty Superdream 400na

I have decided to fit ape bars and have today removed all the switchgear and the original bars (free to a good home should anybody want them) I started with the removal of the left hand switchgear and successfully extended (soldered) all the wiring into the headlamp.

I have also removed the right hand switchgear and have done the same with the electrics. All seems to be well and so far it is a case of beginners luck.

Now I turn my attention to the rest. Clutch cable (looks pretty simple to change) the throttle cables and finally the brake hose.

RE. The throttle cables.

Do I have to completely renew these (remove and fit new ones) if I do how easy is this to do. Is is possible to extend what's already there?

Re the break hose.

Can I just extend the top section of the hose, the part that runs from the master brake cylinder to the cross section that runs just below the main headlamp or again will I need to completely renew the whole lot.

Think that's about it

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Regards

Andy

One thread is enough.

throttle and clutch cables, you could make yourself with some new cable and the bits that go on the end.

I certainly wouldn't risk doing a bodge job extending brake hoses, there are companies out there that will make custom-length lines from scratch.
