Crying or Very sad, he should have never even been aloud to ride the thing.

He reckons it did a 115mph wheelie in 6th gear?

Bullshit. He's probably still alive!

So with that logic you should never ever be allowed to ride your 125.

I'm not sure why he shouldn't have been allowed to ride it? Had his license (No doubt unrestricted) for a year and had been riding a Street Triple without incident presumably.

At the end of the day, he did this to himself, at least he didn't hurt anyone else.

Hey,
As has been said. Why shouldn't he have been allowed to ride the thing? He had passed his test so was therefore more qualified and i dare say more experienced than you.

"Motorcycles should be banned on Britains roads, its about time health and safety got strict on this.
By this logic all vehicles should be banned from the road. All vehicles are dangerous in the wrong hands. Just more ignorant anti bike comments by people who can see no further than there turned up toff noses.

Cheers,
Shaun R.

The guy clearly loved what he was doing and it matters not a jot that he was a doctor or that there are lives he will no longer be able to save (stupid bloody comment IMHO).

He had the required qualifications, an apparent passion for biking. If anything is sad it is that it is another biker down and more fuel to the anti-bike brigade.

The police, rightly, disregard the importance of the wheelie comment but typical sensationalism of the Daily Fail makes it a headline. Should be sued for potential incitement to riot. Rolling Eyes

Sounds like Op is a bit jealous that he got on the bike he wanted as Op is still struggling to meet Mod2 requirements.

Anyway everyone knows the dangers when they get on a bike, if you don't you are a moron. You know what will or can happen if you come off. The doctor would of known this best of all if he had treated any motorcyclists in the past.

It was his life and I'm glad he managed to do what he wanted with it whilst he could.

As someone pointed out in the article, the bike has an anti-wheelie/traction control device anyway.

I've registered now, so many stories I have read on that site with peoples comments has got me riled up. I posted this.

Quote:
Motorbikes are just as dangerous as cars. I suppose we should ban cars too? How about push bikes too? I know plenty of people (some very close friends) who have died in car crashes. How ignorant do you have to be to say ban motorcycles, you have no understanding of risk and reward. Branding motorcyclists with one big brush shows lack of intelligence, nothing more.

Not in the crash, no.

I'm not going to give it the Daily Hate treatment, but leaving aside all the indirect damage that he did, even moving past that idiotic text that has handed more ammunition to the mentalists in BRAKE and the anti-bike lobby, the worst, the inexcusable part, is that he's proven Tef right.

Dead fantasist spacker wrote:

No, if you can ride that bike, you'll confuse its ability with your own, and you'll believe you're a little leather clad riding god, right up to the point where you run out of luck or bottle.

Thought his reactions and judgement matched the bike, was fatally wrong, sad end of story.

If you really think he shouldn't have been allowed to ride that, what on earth makes you think you should be allowed to ride an R6 or GSXR6 if/when you eventually pass your test?

Personally, I have no problems with either him or you being allowed to ride whatever bike you choose to.

Shit happens, and especially at this time of year, the roads are fucking treacherous at the moment, certainly not the time of year I'd choose to test ride an unfamiliar sportsbike.

EWWW ive only failed my test once and that was for something petty... not being in a big vehicles mirrors whilst being stationary. 2nd test i booked technically i didn't fail because i did not take it, as i forgot my module 1 cert.

*cough* you failed your mod1.. which i passed 1st time on a yamaha yzf r125, which is harder to do a u turn than the typical cg, ybr etc.

Even I know that can be turned off by pressing a few buttons.

So you think that dealers should be allowed to police what we want to try/buy despite holding the correct licence?
What bike are you looking to get after passing your test? Nothing more than ER5 for the first 5 years I hope. You shouldn't be allowed to own or test anything more than that.

Headline - "Hospital consultant died on bike test run after pulling 115mph wheelie"

Near bottom of article - "We know the message sent at 14.30pm indicated excessive speed but I think perhaps it would be dangerous to read too much into that"
