Electrically heated snowmobile visor?

Where in the uk can I buy a snowmobile visor that has electric heating in it for demisting.

I know lots of people will have endless advice on how they stop misting with pinlocks and magical antimist whale sperm treatments etc etc but i just want to know where i can get an electrically demisted visor in the uk.

A quick search on e-bay turned up several visors and helmets, nothing in the UK though, but it wouldn't cost that much (compared to what you've paid for a helmet and visor) to ship one over.

Why go to expense of constantly buying anti fog crap when the solution is simple;
1, Take a raw potato
2, cut in half
3, wipe inner visor with the cut exposed section of said spud
4, = clear visor that will not fog up to the extent of £££££ alternatives.

And yes, it really does work. My das instructor told me of it & have never paid for Heath etc: products since Thumbs Up

Does ithave to be heated? Couldn't you get creative and fit a microfan into your current lid, blowing up the air vents and over the visor?

i've already made a system like that using one of those daft little vacuum cleaners they sell for cleaning computer keyboards out. It does work but I'm having trouble getting a good bit of 9mm flexible silicon tubing to conect it to. That was before I heard about snowmobile visors being a commercially available tried and tested method.

I'm sure it would be possible to DIY a heated-element affair, battery-powered or run from the bike's electrical system.

I wanted to experiment with a heated element but couldent get a spare visor for my lid. Its not a difficult thing to I have some resistance wire and it would not use a lot of power. The snowmobile visors looklike they are like a pinlock but with a heating element running along the top and bottom. So I might get a pinlock and some cheap heated gloves to rip a heating element out of and try that.

You don't want a snowmobile helmet.

I've got one I brought back with me from the USA. Snowmobiles go fairly slowly compared to a motorbike so they have proportionately larger vents in them to keep enough air flowing through them.

Net result, if it's cold enough to need s snowmobile helmet, the bitterly cold wind howling through the vents means you may as well not be wearing it.

HJC do a heated visor kit to fit their helmets in the US. They are not available in the UK because they don't let enough light through to comply with road regulations.
