I love my new bike, and much prefer riding over the tube. I was resigned to the idea that some morning I was going to learn the limits of my ability by dropping the bike while turning out of my drive, or at the end of my street.

This morning, I looked out and could barely see the other side of the street for the freezing fog... A wave of sense came over me like a fever. Where's my oyster card?

Of course, I get to work after fighting the crowds on the Central Line for the first time in many months and the skies and roads are clear. All of the bike parking bays are full, too.

Ah, well. I'll drop my bike on another day.

Always go with your head, some thing told you not to ride this morning, who knows?
