im having to sell my beloved cg125 Crying or Very sad

can anyone point out how i can sell her quicker, as i am now running out of time, and a few people who said they were coming to look at the bike never turned up!

since then ive cleaned her up, got her MOT'd, new battery... but havent heard anything in a little while now....

the center/side stand is likely the culprit most people turn away but i just wanted to get some updated feedback.

https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/honda-cg125-2002-15300-miles-beginner-bike/113392513

am i asking too much for her?

cheers
Thumbs Up

Seems to be a perfectly fair price to me - if as the advert states though, why not stick on a stand as it will only be a small investment? Additionally I would stick tax on it for the sake of £15 so the bike is quite literally ready to "ride away".

Bulletproof little learners though and it shouldn't be struggling to sell - maybe the time of year?

I agree plus maybe take the top speed off, doesn't need to be there, and people might think you rag it, plus if you are moving abroad and you need rid quick 500 quid

ok cheers guys, will see what i can do asap then!

any ideas where i can advertise the used bike gear...? some decent stuff here but im finding it hard to shift as well!

would be nice to get some money back for some things like the alpinestars and sidi boots and 2 sets of leathers... ive listed items separately on gumtree and a few on bristoltradeit but anywhere else a good place? Mr. Green

ebay will cost me money right? ....might put the bike on there but forgotten how it all works (ebay takes 10% of final selling price?)

ta Thumbs Up

Just sold a bike on eBay at auction. Sold for roughly the same price as yours total fees were £30 think it was £10 to list then £20 final value fee.

But obviously there are ways round this if the winner comes to buy it and you agree a cash deal outside eBay knocking a bit off for them so you both save a few quid.

cheers, i will definitely consider ebay now then... il look into the charges tomorrow. Thumbs Up

looking for more than the lowest book value, sorry but 400 is far too low.

i would consider 550, but no lower.

You just need to be patient, my CG was on Gumtree, here and a couple of other sites for about 2 months. I then paid the £10 to list it on eBay and someone contacted me through Gumtree and came and bought it the next day.

If it's as good as you say then all you need is someone to come and see it with the cash in their pocket and it will be gone and remember that it's completely the wrong time of year to be trying to sell a bike, especially one that is likely to be used by a nervous newbie Smile

You still have to pay the ebay fees that way I think.

I miss my old CG, my brother blew up the engine on my old bike. Sad

Well, now you've got a £400 contingency plan as well.

Well I've sat staring at the advert and the pics thinking "Shall I? Can I?" for quite a while, the advert temped me so you can't have written it that badly.

I so want another 125cc to potter around on through winter.

If you were more local I'd have knocked you down to £525 and had it. Wink

Easiest fixes are what you've pointed out yourself - but this is not the time to be selling, Binge just took a pretty big hit on his R1 and I've been bargaining down an R6 worth 1.5K to about £800.

Get the problems fixed for the slight cost they are and be sure it's worth the ~£600 you get. Thumbs Up

I'll make an offer for the hell of it, I'd have in for £530 cash, but for that I'd need free not-so-local-delivery Wink (To Southend).

It may just be time of year, I sold my CG at the beginning of summer for more than I paid for it.
