I haven't ridden all of those bikes, but have an FZ6 myself. It's my first bike and I think it's great. If you really want to get technical about it, I'm sure someone with more experience will come along and tell you which handles better, which has more power, etc. But I can pretty much guarantee any of those bikes will put a big smile on your face and you'll have a great time on it. So I stick with my vote for the FZ6 for an all round great bike.

The Fazer is a brilliant bike, handles well, good brakes and no scary quirks. Keep the revs down below 4000 while you get used to big bike riding and It's a docile pussycat, crack it open and it goes like a rocket. Basically It's a Thundercat re-tuned for mid range real-world performance rather that licence losing top end. I've had mine about eight months and certainly haven't got bored with it. No mechanical issues either.

I like the fazer because the power is there if you want it, open it up, rev it high and it's a rocket. Keep it low, it's as tame as a pussycat and there are no surprises.

I'm on an older Faze FZS600 (foxeye). Great bike to get started straight after DAS. Plenty quick, without being crazy. Decent handling, easy ride, good riding position - not too bent over sporty, but not too laid back. Good for commuting or long distance. Good all round bike really.

Only thing with the Fazer is the faring. Great for motorway and offering some protection from elements. But you will drop the bike, all newbie's do. I did. And the faring will come a cropper. It'll scuff, scratch and crack.

Insurance is a bit cheaper than Hornets/Bandits too.

The Fazer may be older, but the '99-'02 FZS600 is a brilliant bike, great fun and not twitchy, we use them now for DAS.

Compared to the newer ER6 they are a much better bike. Another school not far from me used ER6 for a year, and couldn't wait to get rid of them.
