£90, I thought hmm might make a decent jump camera as many fliers use such cameras to record tandems. Then thought bike helmet cam. As the spec is not far off the gopro but at half the cost.

Next thing to come up was how would you attach to said helmet?

Thats a proper camcorder, not a helmet cam. It's nothing like a go pro Laughing

If you're looking for alternatives to the go pro, look at veho muvi Thumbs Up

I use a DogCamSports Bullet HD camera as my lid mounted device.
Similar/better price than the Lidl one, and better suited to a variety of mounts, as well as being waterproof

Is there any decent helmet cameras with a changeable battery? You never know, I may want to record more than 1.5 hours!

you can buy spare batterys for most helmet cameras.
The gopro also has a battery backpack available which is effectively 2 batteries in 1 giving you 2-4hrs of power depending on which mode you record in

I've just bought my first ever headcam through fleabay - looking forward to it arriving... POV 1.5 - has a bullet cam that can be mounted almost anywhere, and the recorder sits in your jacket/backpack, and has wireless remote for start/stop/tag.

It uses ordinary AA batteries, which is a real plus, and manages anywhere between 6 and 9 hours on a set of batteries, depending on the quality.

It's not HD, but I'm not fussed about that since the footage is only ever intended for a PC screen and you tube.

Getting it for a variety of reasons - mainly to film any incidents in case they end badly for me, but also to maybe do a little bit of vlogging - maybe!!

The POV 1.5 which is hopefully winging it's way to me at the moment, takes ordinary AA batteries, including recheargables, and gives anywhere from 4 to 11 hours from a set of batteries, depending on the quality of the batteries and the type of recording being done.
