Hey guys, just a couple of questions I was hoping someone could help me with.

I posted my project a month or so ago (1984 VT250F), its on the road and has been for a while and apart from eating a cheap chain and a set of tyres its been doing ok. I'm pretty scared of it at the second because of all the "Omg cam chains going to snap any minute".

But the question was... Can you get replacement or alternative parts?

I would like to switch to some sort of perhaps different forks (Very rubbish/seal problems from day1) and maybe look at getting different carbs (The diaphragms are dodgy and impossible to buy).

If the option came up I wouldn't mind finding a bike I can "harvest" some similar (Don't have to be identical/pref not the same bike :L) parts from. The VT500, VTR, VF/VTF are all just as hard to get parts for I find.

I don't know much about buying generic parts off the shelf so I'm wary to go out and blow £300 on a set of carbs that probably won't fit.

Any advice, similar bikes... Or "swappies" you've done in the past would be awesome.

ANNDDD if you happen to know a site for VT250 parts thats not Japanese or Wemoto :L I would much appreciate it.

Apparently the choke size is 32mm and they look to be of the downdraught variety- it may be possible to fit two individual slide carbs and use a throttle cable splitter.

Thank you very much for replys... I just wondered if any end cans would fit simply because mine are tatty and don't sound great (Baffles breaking up).

The diaphragms are starting to perish, I would imagine they have been left to sit dry or out of the carbs.
