Other than the kids' unadulterated joy, it's the 2hr cycle across the New Forest in my Santa hat, knowing that when I get to the finish I get to eat a massive Chrimbo dinner, then fall asleep. Cool

Agreed.

Best thing for me? Meh, Christmas is pretty miserable for me the way my family split - so the best thing for me is sitting at home, getting fucking wankered, ordering in a pizza and ignoring Christmas Razz

I really like Christmas. Only since I got older though, like from moving out onwards. Hated up 'till I was 16. Since we have no kids, the surprise on the wife's face opening her gifts. Soft as fuck I am when it comes to her at Xmas. Hah. Thumbs Up

Tomorrow I'm off to the folks's place 50 miles away on my bike. There's a good thing!

50 mph gusts perhaps, but I'm gutsy enough for gusts now..

It's the first year I can do the trip on my own without using the damn train, and so I can spend Christmas eve at home for the first time in 15 years Thumbs Up

Also I can come back a day early as there are typically no trains until the 27th, lovely.

Eat enough sprouts you'll be able to counteract the gusts.

I have little kids and I love watching them on the day, but I really really fucken hate the two month leadup. It shits me off.

Mrs B tends to suggest a round of Money Shot.

Not fun for all the family.

Never understood this.

If they're the sort that want to see you in the first place, just fucking go and see 'em.

Christmas is just full of hypocritical cliched bollocks.

It's a lot more difficult throughout the year though - it's not often you can all get the time off work, Xmas certainly helps with that. Yes it cliched bollocks, yes it's stupid that people think they 'must go buy presents' and yes it's becoming the most ridiculously commercial holiday ever, but for me, the good is just about outweighing the bad. Just about.

All that death and suffering that they show every year. Most can be sorted with a condom.
