Hello, im new to the forums and have a problem with Peugeot Speedfight 2. Basically my electric start doesn't have enough power to turn the engine over. It works for about 1 second then just seems to lose power and not turn the bike over.

It can't be seized because i can twist it with my hands.

I have tryed changing the fuse the electric start relay. I also know the battery has enough power because i checked the voltage of the battery.

I am just wondering what the problem could be. Thanks

Whats the voltages across the battery when you hit the starter button?

I assume you have had it running before and not just bought it?

If the battery is older than two years and has been dead flat before its likely poked, agree with uw, this is a good test as long as you know your starter is working first. OP, connect a bigger battery with booster cables to rule it out

The battery may have plenty of volts, but it's amps that you need here and unless you have an ammeter you're not going to know if you have any of them.

First off, charge the battery overnight and see if that helps. If it helps, and keeps working, you're sorted. If it works for a day or two and then starts being pathetic, your battery is knackered. Replace battery and you're sorted.

It is entirely possible for a battery to have enough power to run all of the lights but not start the engine. Starting the engine takes a lot of power, running lights does not.
