Get to the test centre after riding around all morning in the wind and the rain in fact all week!!!! I'm pissed off as the good thing about todays test was it was in the afternoon not something stupid like 8:30 am. I'm not optimistic the next date will be anything but inconconvenient.

You are going to have one *hell* of a pub story by the time you get your license.

Don't worry about it. Meant to be. The next time you go in for a test, the thought of having nerves will be laughable. You'll be on a first-name basis with every examiner. You'll ace it.

Really annoys me when I hear tests cancelled due to wet weather....what do they think will happen when it rains when youve passed your test? Abandon your bike and walk home?

Bunch of wusses they are. ..on my test he followed me in a car due to the weather!! FFS...whos the learner rider here?

Hope you get a date soon and pass before the rule changes.

Examiner didn't think he was competent enough to cope with the weather that you'd just ridden through?

He made out nothing could be done about it because it had gone through the computer and was administered through Newcastle. Sounded like bolloks to me.

Sounds to me like cancelling today would conveniently mean he would break up early for Xmas.

Cynic? Me?....nah Wink

i've now gone from being nervous and glum to pissed off that I'm probably going to have to shell out for a DAS course next year. If the retest date comes back as post Jan 19th is worth the £75 just to have the luxury of taking the L plates off or would I be better just getting the money back and putting towards saving for DAS?

This is almost driving me to join Ukip :-/

Bad luck, but I'm sure you can try and bring any test date forward if you check for cancellations. They are discerning between pre and post Jan 19th on the paperwork, so surely any retest would have to be before? Thinking

Just go on the DSA website - find the 'booking confirmation letter' email you get when a slot is confirmed, and there's a link called 'Check, change or cancel your appointment' - from there it's easy to check for available slots.

Interesting question, and if you want a big bike then probably put it towards DAS.

The point is that for people like you the situation sucks. If your test is cancelled and you can't get another in time you are forced into a licence restriction that you were trying to avoid.

As long as I can do the tests on a 400 and not have to pass them on a 125 first, i'm gravy for next years anal regime

I'm lucky in that at my age even if I miss the Jan 19th cut I can still go through a school and get a full licence.

I really feel for you, i would be in the same position, had my arm not head up as quick, after i broke it.

each to their own, but if its the Same first attempt id be inclined to try for a pass even with the new rules as if nothing else it means you can get a larger bike (35kw [some nice 400's thatll do that ok] ), and get on the Mways) plus when you do go for the Das, youll feel more confident about having at least passed it before.

Plus it'll all feel recent just now.

I feel your pain pal. My Mod 1 has been cancelled twice due to the test place being covered in think ice! I'm 23 but the training school I'm at wont let me go on the bigger bikes as I'm too short. So, my next Mod 1 is booked for the 14th Jan. That leaves me 5 days to pass Mods 1&2 and no room for errors. Debating if i should just give up and ride my wee 125 till I'm 24 and buy a bigger bike to sit the DAS plus redo my CBT or pray that everything works out.

Stupid licence changes!!!!
