I won't come then. I don't need special treatment because I have a bike. A bike is not a blue badge.

I'd pay if these parking spaces were more common and had fixed anchors and dedicated CCTV which would be useful for proving that one brought a ticket in the first place...

A lap of the M25? Whilst it sounds like fun I'm afraid I'm washing my hair that day.

Are you intending on going slowly to cause disruption?

Same here.
My town has 2 places where you can park. 1 outside the town hall has cctv, but only 6 spaces Laughing
T'other is where they hold the market 3 days a week and has no cctv and spaces for 8 Laughing
You could pay to park in the multistoreys, but they're poorly lit and don't have full cctv coverage.
About 4 million registered bikes in the uk yet only parking for 30 bikes and a ped.

Sounds like such an awesome ride out Laughing

Wouldn't live or work in London for love nor money. Divide and conquer or not, I quite honestly couldn't give a shit about the parking regs for bikes in London.

[smug] I'll just relax up here with a modest income and the Dales and Lakes on my doorstep. Life is worth living eh? Wink [/smug]

So you flounced out of your other thread, returned, then created another thread on exactly the same topic -
Which many would suggest is protesting to make parking bikes in Westminster harder and likely to lead to more damaged bikes?
Or possibly just to further annoy car drivers and get them to generally dislike bikers by inconviencing them, rather than the people that take this action - I'm expecting more people swerving towards me if I take the M25 after this.

I wonder if you would still feel righteous if someone was had up in court on Death by Dangerous driving after taking out a filtering bike when they explained how the biker was 'wrong' and "shouldn't be allowed on the road" after they had got frustrated by your protest.

I've been sat oop north laughing at you poor shandy drinkers and how hard you have it down there... Until I remembered I'm moving darn sarrf next month... Dammit!

I wont be joining the protest ride as I genuinely believe it is targeting the wrong people.

My idea of a protest would be to fill every single bike space to the gunnels from dawn to dusk, with everyone refusing to pay for a ticket and waving at fellow motorists and getting them to "honk" in support (although how much support will be left after inconveniencing other motorists for so long will depend on how many have read your flyers Rolling Eyes ). If everyone gets a fine and refuses to pay/appeals on technicalities, it will cost those in charge a lot of time and money, thus directly and seriously inconveniencing the actual people involved... As opposed to making the innocent people of London (the beautiful HellKat included) late for work!

Enjoy your ride out, and the animosity it will inevitably create! Let me know when you've got the balls for a real protest!

It's only at the top because so many people here reckon you're behaving like a soft cunt.

Oh, you're making a point alright.

Just not the point you were hoping for. Doh!

Protest about something that actually matters to most riders - such as the insane cost of fuel.

If paying means I get a secure space with a ground anchor and no scooter chavs scratching my pride and joy by trying to squeeze in next to it, then I'm all for it.

I'd rather we protested against something genuinely serious like rising fuel prices or the introduction of sattelite tracking and speed control. This is the real threat to motorcycling, not some council in London wanting to improve facilities by charging for them.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
