hi!
if i booked das can i turn up on my test tomorrow and use my 125 instead or i have to book specifically a2?
i did mod 1 and failed.. i'll reseat tomorrow..
i've been training alone today on my cbf125 and i feel very confident.. the problem is if i pass mod 1 on a bigger bike n failed mod 2 it will be a lot of money to reseat and i had some extra expenses recently and won't be able to afford mod2 reseat on a bigger bike.
plus i dont mind a a2 license.. the guys from the training centre convinced me to do das.
cheers
Thumbs Up

No problem, turn up on your 125, and your pass certificate will specify A2. The test is the same, so the examiner would not be worried.

You will have to do the mod 2 on a 125 though, and before 19th Jan, otherwise you will come under the new A1 category.

Being 33 years old will make no difference. If you take the mod1 test on a 125 now, and take the mod2 test after 18th Jan, you will be restricted to a 125cc bike, with a max power of 11Kw (aprox 14.6bhp).

You cannot do the mod 1 on a 125, then take the mod 2 on a bigger bike.

Take the mod 2 before the 19th, on the 125, and you will be restricted to 25Kw (33bhp) for 2 years, engine size immaterial.

Yes.
The over 24 years old change only applies to the age at which you can take a Direct Access course. I know someone is going to come on and tell us all that DAS is a test condition (not a course) but most people are going to test that way with a training school as the logistics of practising and taking the test on your own 600cc is too problematic.

Not just 600's, after 19th Jan the new A2, progressive access and DAS will all require a DAS qualified instructor with you to practice on the road on the relevant bikes.

A misconception, for some there is no problem doing the tests on 600's, but for those that do have a problem, find them too heavy etc, then it changes everything.
