Don't ask and you won't get.

Offer to sell him a 'not working' ZXR with a few parts missing for £300... and the parts to fix it for £400 Smile.

a bit cheeky.. but as said, if you don't ask you don't get..

bought a scooter for my little brother a while back, put in a cheeky offer, knowing id be told to take a hike, and it was accepted, £350 off what he wanted, and it as already cheap for the bike.

Turned out he was desperate for the money, and a couple of people had already messed him around, needed it sharpish or he was getting evicted, I felt a little bit bad after Laughing

I've bought a perfectly good bike for £250 in the past.

All it needed was 10l of oil and fuel draining out of it Laughing

I'd love to get my hands on a zx6r for either of those prices. Obviously a fixer-upper.

Back on point, it was worth a try. As already said, don't ask don't get.

that guys challenge sounds worse than top gears best car for a grand. there was a charity thing i seen where a pair of new cbf125's took 16 hrs to do it. i know mine could, but id be the weak link here.

trawling through the small ads/gumtree/ ebay/mcn/biketrader for the past few days hell be lucky to get such a thing in running order, thats "safe" after being thrashed for a few hours even if its not mot/taxed. + theres the 24hr target as mentioned. no chance 1 breakdown, and he would fail that challenge, as sods law it would require a garage to fix.

I'm really not. It's just another "sponsor my jolly" event where the participant is going to ask other people to put their money where his mouth is.

I recall a couple of chaps who did LEJOG on scooters and raised pretty much exactly the purchase price of their scooters, one of which shit itself and he had to switch to his real bike anyway.

I'm guessing they will then sell their bikes and donate it to charity?
