Bit early but thats what planning is about.

I'll be putting my fazer on the road at the back end of winter and in the mean time upgrading the horn and a few other bits on it.

Have a week touring North Wales planned.

Riding to Olivers Mount in Scarbrough for a couple of events there.

BikeSafe course.

So, what are your plans for 2013?

Smile

Get my CBX 550 back on the road and take my 11 year old lad for his first pillion ride. SWMBO appears to have finally relented and appears to accept now that he won't die immediately he gets on the back of a bike!

Europe in April/May. Where I go depends on the weather.

Option A: Spain and Portugal including Gibraltar
Option B: Germany, Austria and into the eastern europe area
Option C: Italy and the Balkans.

Or B & C together if my mate can get the time off from his work Cool

Get some miles down on my new ride. Start using it to do my 200 mile weekly round-trip to Oxford. Maybe go on a camping / riding trip with my biking sons.

Do my DAS at some point after the 19th, when I've passed, jump in at the deep end and buy myself a Pan European. Following that, I suspect my wife will have a lot of quiet weekends because I will be doing the tourist thing all over the place.

Fucking love long drives by myself.

I'm planning on a weekend getaway with the other half on the bike, around when I turn the big 5-0 in May. Haven't decided where yet. (Suggestions?)

BikeSafe in the next couple of months and one other round of (unspecified as yet) training later in the year.

Learn some moderate maintenance skills. At the moment, I can clean and lube my chain, check tyre pressures, change bulbs, but still break out in a cold sweat at the thought of adjusting the chain slack (I've only done it once). An oil change is still terra incognito. This is the main handicap of not knowing a single other motorcyclist...

Buy new gear. My current charity-shop stuff is literally falling apart at the seams. I want a quality textile outfit for 80% of the year and a summer outfit, which will probably be Kevlar jeans, leather jacket and some sort of waterproof pullover.

Good lad, I tried to do that in a car this summer and planned to do it on a 125 next summer, problem was it turned out two of my teammates were criminals and took all my stuff in Ukraine.

Careful who you pick for your team. If you're still looking next summer, I might consider it! Thumbs Up

Before February
- Get the bike fully serviced (Valve clearances, change fork oil, lube all bearings etc)

As for the rest of the year
- Do my first trackday
- See out my restriction period
- Take the girlfriend to somewhere in Europe (thinking Spain since Italy is so bloody far)
- Strip the ZZR naked, won't go as far as to say street fighter it
- Get knee down, learn to wheelie
- Get a fucking job so I can afford to do any of this.
