This morning I am so pissed off with this idiot.
Let me explain.

There I was travelling along the a30 minding my own business when I see a bike in my mirror approaching at a rather unsafe speed for the time of day, this I did not particularly care about, but what did piss me off is that when you overtook me you did not realise the lights for the left hand lane were red, there was very little room for you to go, apart from in front of me and to be able to do that you cut me up, literally missed me by millimeters, slammed on your brakes, that inturn caused me and two other drivers to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

I naturally vented my annoyance with a combination of the horn, flashing lights and a Middle Finger
Prick on sv then carries on through the traffic and away.
A few moments later I see said sv on the inside lane overtaking, I was going to get my own back and cut him up but no, thats dangerous, he might of crashed, after all I am in 4wheels compared to your feeble two Rolling Eyes
The next bit made me see red.
This cnut took my fucking mirror off Middle Finger Middle Finger
You have just set me back 120quid for the whole assembly, you even bent the metal frame that attaches it to the door. What the fuck you playing at asswipe??

I know you are a local I have seen you blasting about before, I'm local too, if I find you watch your back you owe me a mirror. I will only accept cash or blood.
Middle Finger Middle Finger MORON Middle Finger Middle Finger

Rant over, I'm going for a beer Mad

Sounds like a twat, did he knock your mirror off on purpose, or an accident whilst filtering?

Luckily, there aren't that many yellow ones about, so he/ she should be pretty easy to track down. Twisted Evil

Did you really think that if he's got the 'I don't give a crap' attitude and doesn't mind cutting you and others up that he is going to sit and take abuse from you and not do anything about it. Rolling Eyes

Man thats gay.

So he cant ride to save his life, and then when you alert him of your presence he breaks off your mirror. What a dick.

Get his plate next time and report him. Looser shouldn't be allowed to ride. Mad

I can see why car drivers get pissed off now. Think about it, had you not been a rider (so complacent), you would now have even less respect for riders on the roads, which could in turn could lead to a car vs bike accident, with another rider at a future time.

Who said he couldn't ride to save his life? So he was riding fast and dangerously. Everyone does it from time to time. You saying that you've never been late for work or been in a rush to get somewhere and not taken any risks?

Sure, I used it more of a saying. Yeah I suppose we all do, but when you couple it up with the fact that he broke the mirror off, when he was the one to do something stupid, it kinda pissed me off.

More the mirror breaking off that is the annoying thing, as you are right we all do silly things sometimes, and we all make mistakes. Whistle

Yeah if I was the one with the broken mirror I'd be a bit annoyed too. I reckon I wouldn't think twice about doing it though or something similar if I was in the bikers position and was getting abuse. Just one of those things I think where you aren't bothered and don't think about these things until it actually happens to you.

I'm not mentioning it in relation to this incident, but in general:

Remember, there's not much obvious difference between a very dangerous manouver performed by an unskilled rider and a calculated manouver that appears dangerous performed by a more skilled rider.

For instance wheelies are considered dangerous, but there's some people I'd much prefer to have wheeling behind me as opposed to some other road users 'normal' driving follow the rules of the road.

Certainly don't claim on your insurance with a description of the events like that, how come hes on a bike undertaking what appears up ahead then suddenly he takes off your wind mirror Question

Perhaps its just me, but people do make mistakes - so he didn't see the red light whats the point about getting upset about him cutting you up? He no doubt realised his mistake when he had to slam on the brakes himself. Pointless.

However the removal of a wing mirror ain't no laughing matter, how did that happen Question

Mind you, the times i've ridden with Claud, he never really filters lol Rolling Eyes , hence getting lost on the A406!

Well it's very infuriating when you see people do that. If you want to filter, judge before you commit to the manouevre. I can't say i have met any rider that has not infringed other road users in any way! I guess as G said, it's your perception on what is considered to be dangerous and judging by your wing mirror accident, I don't think this chap had any calculated control or forward planning in his riding Evil or Very Mad Middle Finger

I think it was most definitely on purpose, not sure he was happy with my horn, flashing lights and a finger

Thanks Thumbs Up , but I think I have an address and a name.
Apparently he started bragging about it to a friend and some connected ears to me heard Very Happy

Not sure what I should do now, do I, pass the details onto the police and as there are no witnesses nothing will probably get done or, do I send a letter to this address which I believe is correct and wait for a response, I will not lay down on this, I am out of pocket due to no fault of my own. Someone will pay.

You have all made some very good points, and about riders that make mistakes, I am sure we have all made a mistake and made another driver a bit pissed off, I know I have, but a quick wave to say sorry if you like would of had the matter over and done with.

I also think he sat further ahead and waited for me to pass so he could deliberately try and get his own back.
Bloody barbarian.

There's a thread on visordown that's been around for some time about the best way to remove car mirrors, it seems to happen a lot, and happens frequently up here. Remember to him, you're just a car driving cnut, and it's hard not to sound like one, having read your posts.

Be wary as to how you interpret his actions. Maybe he was waiting to talk to you, offer some form of apology? I don't know the circumstances because I wasn't there, but seeing everything with rage-tinted spectacles isn't conducive to objectivity.

I appreciate he caused damage to your car, so he owes you money for the replacement. Just don't turn it into a car vs biker thing, because that will see us all getting a smack in the chops from the press.

You wouldn't want to do that sort of damage while batting for the other team now would you? Confused

Guess what,
I have been promised some monies
gobsmaked!

After a bit more asking around I was 99% sure the address I got was correct so I wrote a letter and hand delivered it, I was going to talk to him face to face but I think approaching him on his own doorstep may of been asking for trouble really.

Anyway, I received a phone call last night, it was this chap, he was ever so shocked that I had found him, after a small chat on phone he agreed to meet me on Saturday with some cash if I provide the receipt for the replacement I bought on saturday afternoon just gone.
Things are looking kind of brighter, we shall see.

Yes mate I got something come last Saturday, I received a rather lame excuse as to why he could not make it, fair enough I thought, perhaps some genuine reason has come up for him not being able to make it, we eventually got together on Tuesday and he gave me a cheque to which I am waiting the clearance of, main thing is it's advancing forward even if a little slow.

The final leg I hope.
