Anyone want to guess what i did wrong? (Carbs)

Hi,

Cleaned the carbs on the bandit yesterday as I was having difficulty starting when the weather is cold and also a slight fuel leak which I suspected was dirt under the float valve. So I stripped and cleaned and also adjusted the float height on number 1 carb as it was out of tolerance (or so i thought, this is where I'm putting my money on causing the problems, also the leaky carb) Now the bike starts and runs but has a misfire/struggles under 5k. It seems to pull as normal after 5k under acceleration but the misfire persists if held at constant revs. It backfires more than average on deceleration now too. I did also clean the bike using a lot of 'hose action' so another theory was water down the plug holes causing an ignition fault. I'm obviously going to check for air leaks tomorrow too!

Anything else for me to look at whilst I'm at it tomorrow.

I can't see it being physical failure as it was fine before, just a bit leaky and hard to start below 4 degrees. I think its a failure of the idiot with the tools!

Water down plug holes and water on the coils are the 2 real issues that plagued my electric issues on the bandit 600.

Check the HT leads are all clean, unscrew them and WD40 the bastards, screw back in and cover with vaseline.

Just to update/close the thread: Cleaned carbs again, lowered float height again and snipped ht leads. All is good.

Sort the way I worded the original post made it sound like I only cleaner number 1 care. I cleaned all cards but adjusted float height on number 1.
