Hmmm 390 miles / 6.5 hours ... tasty Laughing
It was never realistic to expect to make any of these meets untill I move more central.
I'll wait for the thread summary Thumbs Up

I have no idea what I'm doing from one week to another, but I'd be up for going if I am able. Just posting to show my interest and to help me keep updated.

I was just thinking the other day that I've been on the Internet for more than 30 years -- when I started, email addresses had lots of '!' characters in it, you had to be in the military, a researcher or an academic to be even allowed on and spam was food -- but I've never once considered attending a gathering of people I know *only* through the Internet.

For the first time, I'm seriously considering travelling (possibly) hours to a (probably muddy) field to meet people I know only through nicknames and bizarre avatars. I'm not sure what this means, exactly, but I feel I'm entering a new stage...possibly one that will end with me being committed to a mental institution.

I'm largely ambivalent about the date and the location, but count me in.

Yeah august seems to be monsoon season now, can't remember when the BBQ was last time but pretty sure it was august and the rain was a massive killjoy... I would prefer earlier within the 2 weeks of summer we may or may not get

But whatever works Thumbs Up

The best two weeks we had last year were in March and May. If the Econmentals are to be believed - and who am I to question Pravda? - then we are going to enjoy more "tropical storm" summers from now on.

Count me in, I think. Don't much care about location as long as it is somewhat central for everyone.

I've met internet perverts before and reader, I married her.

Banbury was fairly central-ish last time. Didn't hear too many complaints.

Some of us didn't make it due to circumstances beyond our control Sad

^^That place is pretty good and reasonably tolerant for bike-related activities. As is this one:

Both give an option of pub food and drink as well as your own.

I'm up for it, location dependant Smile manchester way is probably more central so even the scots could make it? Or maybe even derby way at a push as there are some brilliant roads round that way

What about here if weather isn't going to be too bad? No facilities but decent roads and we can be as loud as we want Laughing

I'm seriously contemplating coming... first week or second in August probably best for me as the last week is usually some festival or other.

Location: I'm not that arsed so long as it's not the most southerly or most northernly parts of the UK, I'm in Parbold so Wales/Lake District/Peak District/Yorkshire are all easy accessible.

Just to throw something a little 'different' into the mix, which wouldn't mean people bringing tents, this place looks awesome - I'm staying at it with a out 30 people in Feb:

and it has a HOT TUB!!!
