Hello,

This is a topic which is confusing me about my bike.

I have recently just got my 50cc and have had it for about a month now. I feel confident on the road now and I feel safe. However all of mates have their bikes derestricted and zoom off ahead of me. Now I don't really mind I enjoy riding my bike but I would like it Derestricted.

Here is where the problem lays...My dad won't let me have it derestricted, he says it's not the fact the insurance will be void if I do, but it is the fact if I run somebody over I will live with it for the rest of my life. Today however he was thinking about putting on this exhaust I got given with my bike that will improve it's performance, but I don't think the bike will cope it is Piaggio typhoon 50, 2 stroke and has done 12,000 miles.

If he eventually lets me get it derestricted how much do you guys reckon it will cost? (approximately)

Its not legal, and it will invalidate your insurance.

If you want to derestrict it then do it yourself. Cost: free.

Its up to you. Karma

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Just do it yourself, easy to do, then get the performance exhaust for it.
