I believe that you can find out where a picture was taken by clicking on it some how.
How?

In Windows, right click on it and look at the properties. You should have several tabs on the dialogue which comes up, have a look through them and you may see a lot of details.

If the location detail doesn't show up there, you need to have a look at the EXIF data associated with the image. If you use firefox, there is a plugin which will let you view it reasonably easily.

Alternatively, most of the adobe products will be able to show it to you and if you are really desperate, you may be able to open it in a text editor. Scroll right to the bottom and you should see a lot of the data there.

Of course, this only works if the camera which took the photo stored the location data with the image.

There still aren't many regular cameras with GPS and often it is turned off to save the battery power.
It's common in smartphones but can still be turned off or set to not show in picture exif.

The less tech savvy often leave it on so from a phone pic a fair chance it is there.

some sites on the net automatically remove Exif data to protect stupid / computer illiterate members
on our canna site we do this so people don't accidentally give there location away Thumbs Up

there is free software that will show all the available data search for an Exif reader Thumbs Up

I regularly do photo shoots at cannabis cups with Kilo's of weed in front of me in Amsterdam
last thing I need is local Plod arresting me and checking my pictures and finding something like this Laughing
