 |
|
Hi All,
Looking to fly into NY and via motorcycle make my way down to Florida where my current partner lives with a friend for their Spring Break.
Hiring bikes is a bit expensive as that will cost 2-2.5k for two weeks was thinking about buying a bike out there then selling it off to a dealer at the other end.
Even if I lose out on a few hundred squid this could be a good idea? Factoring in that insurance over there is cheap as chips and again could be cancelled when not needed only losing lets say a max £100.
Thoughts?
Also if anyone has any idea what could be visited or if anyone has toured in that area before and could suggest some places to go, already looking at going to Connecticut to get shot and visit a friend there and Atlanta aquarium for the whale shark in its tiny 500 million gallon tank.
Thanks,
Jack ____________________ 08/11/2007 A2 Passed.

I'd be asking this on a Yank-centric forum (just don't mention god, guns or gays or you'll be perma-banned[*]) or one of the "adventure rider" ones.
You will be executed by gunshot to the head if you can't instantly produce your license, registration and proof of insurance[*], which makes riding away on your newly purchased bike essentially impossible to do legally.
If you like living a little dangerously, you could print up a fake insurance card from some obscure 3rd party State, gabble in Charming British Regional, and hope for the best. Once you're out of the bike's registered State the chances of a copper being able to verify your insurance status is minimal. There are something like 20,000 law enforcement agencies in the USA (yes, I said agencies) and the one thing that they all agree on is that they don't co-operate with anyone who ain't from around these here parts.

So you guys just painted a wonderfully frightful picture haha. I thought I was simply going to be riding along enjoying the wonderful scenery and good weather.
Seems I will get shot, raped and stabbed
I could do all that in Leicester and more for cheaper.
I was assuming travel insurance covers hospital bits and pieces? I am fairly sure this is correct if you pay enough. (From experience)
