Learn to spell and punctuate properly, that was dreadful to read and understand.
As for O/P, I am going to go on the assumption that
A. Didn't care for mirrors, mostly all I ever see in my mirrors is my elbows
B. That it is windy as fuck out there and the conditions are poor, so maybe your "pissed" scooter riding, was actually riding to the conditions, it's dark and probably raining and if the wind is anything like it is here, battering the doors down then I imagine that he was just counteracting crosswinds.
Which means if that is correct, then I can assume that you have never ridden in a vicious crosswind before, crosswinds on bikes are horrible, you slow down to avoid getting pushed into kerbs by the wind.
Remember a bike is the most vulnerable user to crosswinds, perhaps the rider fancied getting home, albeit at a slower pace, than going faster and potentially getting pushed sideways into something and not getting home.
I fail to see why this even warrants a thread, and why you want us to discuss it? I appreciate I have discussed it, but I fail to see the need in doing so, it will achieve nothing apart from telling us that you wish to post bollocks irrelevant to everyone on here, what were you expecting to get out of this? A pat on the back? A cheers for the "heads up" I will now avoid this random scooter rider somewhere in the country, I will be ever vigilant for them, a beacon of vigilance for this one scooter rider who may have been pissed, or may have been driving to the conditions. ____________________ Stinkwheel: You have no right to free speech

Forgot the Learner part.... poor f**ker has probably never had to ride in such crap weather... either that or they done the exact same thing then.
For the OP, try riding a bike on a night like tonight across the Old Severn Bridge a couple of times and see how straight a line you keep.... and stick to the speed limit |

He might have folded in the wind mirrors because:-
- he was peed off with being dazzled by idiot car drivers with badly aligned headlamps and unnecessary fog-lamps.
- he needed to push the bike down a narrow passage into his back garden.
- they never showed anything useful anyway
- they were cheap chitty Chinese pattern replacements & dont stay straight for five seconds.
- You scared him and he preffered not to watch!
He may have been swerving:-
- To avoid myriad pot-holes
- In response to contrary gusts of wind
- to avoid road debris, like broken bottles, nails, spilled diesel, crisp-packets......
- With very dim headlamp and no white line in the middle of the road, he was navigating by 'Dead-Reckoning' tacking into the dark abys until a kerb appeared in the gloom, then turning back the other way to find the other one!
- he spotted you over his shoulder, and you scared him, and he was looking for a kerb low enough to escape onto the pavement!
The possibilities are boundless..... it is a mystery..... and we may never know the real reasons!
Maybe he did it for exactly that! To make us Wonder why he wandered! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

I habitually wander all over my lane because:
1) It makes people wonder what you're doing, and if they're wondering, they're less likely to pull out / tailgate / rage overtake.
2) It's a laugh, innit. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Other than the wind aspect, quite common to tack back and forth across the road at night on older bikes with a 6V direct lighting system because you can see a sum total of fuck-all with the headlight. You land up tacking between the kerb and the white line in the middle of the road.
I wouldn't have fancied being on a scooter last night in that wind. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I have a habit on long straight roads, when there is no traffic close by of swerving in my lane to keep my tyres round ____________________ No! No more talk! We go in! We kill! Kill! We kill 'em! They kill us, we kill them! Kill 'em! Kill 'em! Kill! Kill!

I think Killer Rat might be referring to tyres getting squared off if you do a lot of straight road or motorway riding.
But it doesn't make a difference |
