So say for example a police officer thinks you have committed an offence on your motorcycle (speeding, wheeling) or you were involved in accident. Can a police officer then confiscate your helmet camera and take it as evidence?

I just want to know the pros and cons in using a helmet camera.
E.G could footage on my cam be used against me :S during an insurance case.

Police can.

The insurance company being a private company should have a more difficult job.

Yep. I read in MCN a few years back an off duty cop pulled out on a biker, knocking him off. Found a camera mounted to his bike and suggested that the biker was speeding.
It turns out that he was riding okay at the time of the incident, but had been riding like a nutter earlier and ended up getting prosecuted for his earlier dangerous riding.
To make matters worse the cop never got convicted of anything.
wtf.
