don't like KFC in general as the chicken is way to greasy for my taste and way too much salt in the batter

I will still enjoy my wicked zinger meals, shit happens, this is nothing compared to how chickens are dragged up to get the meat in the first place but there's no other way to keep up with demand.

That guy must know of some massive chickens if he thought that was the brain from one Laughing

if he played his cards right, couldn't he of maybe got some money out of this? if he'd have said i won't post this on facebook etc etc
the way things can spread over the internet now he could've got a few £££ out of it i think because the big chickens who run kfc would surely have gone mad when this got out?

Rumour has it that you'll eat around 4 spiders a year. Insects, dirt, etc all crushed and mixed into the preparation of food.

Truth of the matter is, if you knew what goes into most of your pre prepared food and this is everything from that meat your bought from Tescrap down to that dried bisto you mixed up to pour over your meat you would probably never eat again.

All those that say you wont eat in KFC again after "whatever reason" then get over it, you've eaten much worse at home and are still not dead.

Yeah, like the wifes idea of shepards pie.

I must admit the fries from kfc are always cold, and the last time I bought a variety bucket the dogs even turned their noses up when I gave them pretty much the whole meal, as mentioned already the legs are greasy as fuck and the breast cuts are too dry, considering the price of chicken is so low they're also robbing ba57ards

How many millions of meals do KFC serve and how many are fucked up like this?

Get real people.

99.9999% of of the larger food corps. meals are fine.

It would be like winning the lottery where instead of a few million quid, you get some dodgy chicken and 2k from The Sun.

Are we talking about instant gravy or all gravy, I don't use granules anymore as I learnt how to make proper gravy, I'm not put off instant for any other reason than it tastes shit ( can be made reasonably ok if you pour the meat juices in but no match for the real thing), curious as to what horror story could put you off gravy, I know someone who wont eat sausages because they're made from "sweepings" off the floor, he understands full well that you simply wouldn't get away with it this day and age and I've gone through the process of explaining how it's simply bits of meat to small to do anything else with in the same way beefburgers are, yet because of what some moron told him he wont touch them.

Hah. Can't believe KFC tried to respond by saying it was a kidney. Any BCF experts care to verify? I always thought kidneys looks smooth, or do they go wrinkly if you fry them???

My first real job was at Morrisons on the chicken counter. Some chickens weren't gutted properly, I'd often cook them and see various organs had fallen out into the bottom of the oven. Usually kidney, liver, and once a stomach, probably the odd heart and once a whole stomach full of chicken feed.

Never saw anything like that one in the KFC story there though. Definitely looks like a brain to me.

Brain of what? It's huge and chickens have tiny little brains. It's definitely not a chicken brain!

Kidney makes sense, look at the fat deposits around these:

Imagine one with a bit more fat. Kfc's head office aren't stupid enough to put out a statement that's so obviously wrong.

Think the article said KFC didn't actually see the thing? And if it can't be verified, then of course they're gonna just say it was something a little less disgusting. But yeah, I dunno if it's kidney or not. Could be, for all I know. I'm not a biologist. I just thought they looked a little smoother?!

A more legitimate concern is how the stuff is imported from all over the world.
A lot of chicken sold in this country originates in Asia, then they usually try to play up their green credentials.

You can only imagine the conditions chickens are raised in from some of these places - it's a fair bet they don't meet UK standards as that's how they can send them halfway round the world cheaper than the ones from Norfolk.

I had foie gras in Hungary a while back. It's not the lovely minced goose liver and fat that the French make, instead it's a horrible slab of liver fat that looked very similar to that once you pull the bread crumbs back.

And when I say they're not going to just make it up it's because it's so easy nowadays for someone to blow their story out of the water. They'll have had their veterinary team come up with that and it'll be at minimum damn plausible and most likely right. The other link had the environmental health's response which confirmed it and said "there were no dangerous bugs on the fried organ".

Or a butcher, they are covered in wrinkly fat, but if you see kidneys prepared for sale they trim most of it off.
As others have said a chicken with a brain that size would need a head as big as a dog.

Kidneys are occasionally found in KFC - I eat them in a roast dinner, I eat them in pies with steak, I'd probably eat them in a KFC. Previous reports of small wrinkly fried organs are almost certainly kidneys.

The pic in the OP however looks massive, too big for a chicken kidney.

My thoughts - Sometimes cooked blood goes wrinkly and a bit gross. Cooked blood could be rather large too if it had pooled from several bits of meat and clotted before cooking. Have had small bits of cooked blood in KFC, esp the bits with a bit of ribcage and spine - tasteless and the texture isn't pleasant but it's just blood, sometimes it is quite big too (not THAT big though).

So - I put one ePound on a giant pool of clotted blood (which I'd probably still eat).
