I have a bit of a problem and not sure what to do...

I have the 2 bikes (well technically 2 1/4 if I count the mini-moto too):
GPz 750: Good points - It runs, I've spent a lot of time and effort on it, the calipers, carbs and forks have been stripped and rebuilt with new seals all round, whole bike has been rebuilt from the ground up etc etc.
Bad points - It hasn't been MOTed or taxed, milage unknown as MOT showing 9 miles), it has a problem with rain settling on top of the engine and flooding the first spark plug, hasn't been properly tested, Part way through rebuilding it I just didn't like the bike for some reason.

ZXr 750: Good points - it's taxed and MOTed, I like the look of it.... until it runs I don't know anymore good point
Bad points - it's still not running, fork seals need replaced, tyre needs replaced, chain & sprockets will need replaced soon (possibly), battery needs replaced (urgently as the cells were less than half full), almost 50,000 miles on the clock...

There is probably a lot more I could add to the good and bad list for both bikes, but can't think of them at the moment.

If I strip 1 bike then I can harvest a few parts for the other (I think)

I've done some insurance quotes and can get cover for both bikes for £470 FC (or around £250 for either 1), since I don't have a garage for either bike they are open to the elements (which I can just but bike covers) but realistically if I have a test ride on both then I will no doubt like one more than the other, so to avoid that happening and one just rotting away I've decided I should just let one go, but I'm not sure which, even then do I sell one as a complete project or do I break it down and try to recover some money that way?

Well, to be honest sounds like you want to keep the ZXr 750 more then the gpz Razz So i'd fix that up and go with that, be a nice little project for a while and give you much loving bonds with the bike Laughing

What Salty said.

Failing that, I'd sell the GPZ (possibly as a parts/project bike on Ebay) and use the funds to finish off the ZXR - never owned one, but prefer them to the GPZ and will be easier to sell on - late 80s/early 90s bikes in good order are becoming quite collectable - especially with WSB-esc pedigrees.
