They've ballsed it up. Usually with an LC20 you'd get an accompanying IN10 (as you're driving / riding outside of the terms of your licence and therefore not insured) and they stick the points against the larger of the offences, ie the IN10.

Since they've somehow decided to let him off the IN10, they've done the usual process for the LC20 and left him with no points to declare. Does still have to disclose the conviction though

Only if you fancy them trying to whack an IN10 on there too.

You've got an LC20 with 0 points and you can prove it.

Maybe your guilty plea got you an absolute discharge. Anyone wanting to find out can take it up with the Magistrates and the DVLA.

Another vote for leaving alone now.
If asked if conviction declare lc code with zero points.
If asked if points on licence say no points.

Many years ago a 'friend' who had 10 points was caught riding his bike on the pavement to get to a cash point. He received three points and was disqualified through toting up. He sent off his license but was surprised a few weeks later when he received an amended license back. The new license now included his middle name and had all of the points removed.

God bless the DVLA and their 28 years of fail.

Probably got a court summons winging its way in the post as we speak for no insurance.

Hey.

Nifty that it's showing as no points added to your licence, but at least take it as a wake up call and stop doing what you did. The fact it's against the law doesn't bother me in the slightest when compared to the fact that you could easily mow someone down and cripple them for life and not be insured to cover their losses plus knowing the fact you were breaking the law and that resulted in so much pain and heartache for the family involved.

Is it honestly worth it? Just pass your test and get insured.

Cheers.

We've been over this many times.

If there's an insurance policy covering that vehicle, it will pay out to 3rd parties regardless of who is driving it, whether it's with a license or permission.

Even if there's no policy, the MIB uninsured driver scheme (or in extremis the untraced driver scheme) will pay out.

Whether the insurers then pursue him to reclaim their costs is up to them, but nobody is going to suffer for his actions except him.

Oh you know, nobody except anyone who actually has valid insurance, they get the extra costs tacked onto their premiums to pay into that MIB pot for shit like this.

From his actions directly, no, but uninsured scrotes in general, yes.

Yeah, I'm fully aware of that, however I assumed given how he was driving it anyway he wouldn't bother insuring it.

Either way, like I said, it just isn't worth it for the sake of a hundred quid or whatever a test fee is now, ESPECIALLY if his car is already insured!
