It's a bit late in the game for current affairs (3 years ago) but I pissed myself anyway.

This guy has a very thin skin, and his eye on the money. If anyone makes a joke at your workplace and you are later fired over poor performance, sue for them making a joke Laughing

He came in through the Specials, so alternatively, he's a decent bloke who genuinely wanted to put a friendly face on community policing, and was hounded out because he wouldn't put up with the casual, contemptuous racism still endemic in the Plod.

Ali Dizaei has put plenty of tar on the brush, but let's not assume that everyone with a high-Scrabble-score name is just in it to win it.

It's his own fault for shaving off his 'tache.

A beard with no 'tache is ALWAYS wrong.

Islam demands a closely trimmed moustache and a fist-length beard.

Does it?

I wonder what the reasoning behind it is?

The closely trimmed moustache thing is ostensibly for hygiene purposes, although I remain unconvinced. There is such a thing as moving one's moustache out of the way of one's food, after all. Not sure about the beard length of one fist, though.

DO NOT QUESTION THE TEACHINGS OF ISLAM!!!111

Nah. I think it has something to do with Mohammed saying you should follow the teachings and lifestyle of your elders in the Koran.

One of the more revered Islamic elders stated this is what you should do in his writings, therefore it is the word of god.

This clearly does not stem from Moses instruction to the Jews in the book of Leviticus not to cut their hair or beards at the corners. It's entirely different. Oh yes.

As usual a stupid attention grabbing headline. The bulk of his complaint seems to actually be about being referred to as a 'fucking paki' etc..

That said, the beard is hilarious by any standard.

Typically all the allegations by other officers that he is unfit are ignored, and only his are described. It is always easy to hide behind 'racism!'

Apartheid and separate vans? Wow! Great stuff! But muslims segregrate their food from everyone else's, think non-muslims are unclean pig eaters, and want exceptions to normal rules on appearance that apply to everyone. So why complain when others also want to be apart from you?

There's no mention of it in the Qu'ran.

The Prophet advises his men to grow beards, but were talking about a practice for a society in a very different time from now.

There are certain things that Islam demands be timeless, however growing a beard ain't one of them.

That is all down to your personal interpretation of Islam.

The practice of Islam and the teachings of Mohammed as laid down in the Koran are not always the same thing.

The entirety of Koran teachings are always islam but islam does not consist of entirely koran teachings.

Islamic teachings demand a beard. The Koran does not.

Think of this. If mainstream Christianity consisted entirely of teachings from the bible, why can Christians eat pork? The bible expressly forbids it.

The Koran however allows you to eat pork if you're really hungry and assures you you'll be forgiven . Islam forbids it. Most muslims would rather starve to death than eat pork.

Religion is weird.
