Hi,

I need 2 new tyres for my Hornet.

I've got it down to 207rrs front and back, or 010 front and 020 back.

I am quite hard on my tyres, so am looking for something with durablility as well as some performance.

What would you go for?

010's 020's, the 207rr's will wear down faster.

I've got 207RR's and rate them bloody well. As do all on here with them.
And AFAIK you can get some good deal on them ATM.

Found a pair in Busters accessories, £135 for a pair or 207rr's, 010 and 020 will work out at about £170, but wont the bridgestones last longer Confused .

A mix of them may, but the 207's will ride a lot better. You'll get better VFM with the 207's

Considering the miles he's more likely to get better value with the BT combo. They last longer.

If you harsh with your tyres (harsh accel/braking etc) the 207's will wear faster than the BT. The 207's will end up lasting for fewer miles.

Admittedly they are probably better tyres but no one on here has really been able to go quicker than their tyres except for maybe a few.

Get some Metzeler Sportecs and get the best of both worlds.

But Zak, the 207's are cheaper, so would it be more economical to lose a few miles but save £40?

You'll loose more than a few miles.

The RR's use the same compound that is used in various 600cc racing etc (ie same that was on the 207gp).

Also if you are /seriously/ pushing the tyres, the 207s will work better, but will also get mashed up a lot quicker; they are effected more by going through 'heat cycles' so will go off quicker.
