It flew over my house earlier in the year, was a nice change from all the Chinooks.

I saw it fly at Airshows when i was a kid, the noise is just unforgettable.
Saw Concorde at Fairford one year as well, that sounded fucking awesome too (same engines i believe, but with the 'afterburner' options box ticked)

Buy yeah, i'll be hitting a few airshows in 2013.
Thumbs Up

Cool vid, shame it's retiring, especially as I donated money to the cause.

Has it retired now or next year?

My Grandad used to be a Chief Flying Instructor for the Vulcan Conversion Unit alongside Roland Falk. He has some flight time under this remaining operational Vulcan so would have been really interested to see it in flight. Mad

Tis/was at finningley, Doncaster, it's about a mile or 2 from where I work, so everytime it left for a show we got the pleasure of seeing it seconds after taking off, you couldn't mistake it for anything on the approach it seemed to roar up until it was overhead, was surreal to watch as it seemed to move so slowly, then turn left and go into quite a steep ascent, at this point it must be given "the beans" because the noise changed from a trembling roar to a piercing scream, enough to rattle the bollocks off the workshop and get everyone outside staring at the sky, no matter how many times it flew over you never got bored of it, is a shame it's retiring and also being moved out of Doncaster, however I'm glad nobody will be throwing money at it anymore as there are quite a few people telling us that the guy running the "charity" is creaming a hell of a lot of cash out of it, could be bollocks but rumours are last year it was in excess of 100k, can't have been much left in the kitty after the 2 engines that were destroyed and had to be repaired/replaced after a workshop mishap

Can't believe nobody has said this yet:

What sort of toff wanker pays for a private Vulcan Bomber show? I can't think of a single person or entitiy, aside from the British government itself, who could do such a thing without coming across as... well... a wanker.

If I had the money I'd do it too ... I'm no toff, although I am a bit of a wanker ...
