Job required ASAP!! (CV Help)

Right things are getting worse at comet. My boss has now offered to pay me off to leave the company, as I voiced an opinion of what people really think of him and how he manages.

I would walk out ASAP a long time ago too. However I need to find a job first.

Before you say go and look for one, I have. I have been looking for the last year, but cant seem to find one! I have applied for so many jobs on the internet.

What I am after is some sort of IT based job, along the lines of;

* 1st/2nd line technical support.
* Field engineer.
* PC Building.
* Repairs.
* Web designer (jr.)
* Database designer.
* Jr. VB programmer.

I want out of retail. The boss is a D*ck and I have been told to seek legal advise about this "pay off" as well.

Apparently my CV also sucks, so I would like CONSTRUCTIVE comments on how to improve it, as my English is not amazing!

where u been looking for jobs stu? what kinda websites? I found 1 job previously through reed.co.uk and then found my current job through BCF!!! I'm sure thats a first - Korn, take note, a BCF first!!!

If you actually go to the agencies in person they will be more likely to put you near the top of the pile. Go there alot, sound enthusiastic and friendly. Thats what I did and it paid off so worth a try.

Hi,

My CV which has been successful up to now has

Page 1 - Personal details surname, first name, address, dob, driving licence, state of health.

Page 2 - a brief description of my skill profile and the job I want.

Page 2/3 job history in reverse order, qualifications and interests. Only a couple of paragraphs tailored to the job advert if possible.

re-order you qualification to put the best marks and most relevant qualification at the top of the list.

Make sure each page has a footer with you name and number of pages. This is beacuse personel departments and agencys will remove the personal details page before circulation or scribble them out (hence a seperate page). Number the pages so if they get seperated with a load of others it is obvious and can be found.

Stick to white paper and black text as it copies best on worn out copiers.

Some employers wont like you having a business on the side as it could interfere so make it clear it is a past enterprise. Also be aware that for large companies they will have copyright on all the work you do while you work for them in or out of work time.

My cv seems to do quite well-ish, u can browse through it and see what ya think. originally it was my bro's cv years ago and ive beeen using the same kinda template since 97. using it at the mo and im going after IT support jobs as well.
