Hey Carl.
Personally, with every security item I buy for the bikes (such as alarms/chains/disc locks/Datatags) I make sure I get the receipt and when I get home I copy them on to a full A4 page of paper whilst also scanning them into the PC, the receipt + paper copy goes in the "Insurance" folder in the filing cabinet and the digital copy on the PC goes into my "Insurance" folder on the PC.
That way, if this situation did ever crop up, I have proof I own what I said I own.
However, for the sake of £50 mate, is it worth it? Why not just put down the name of the security you have? Unless it's not listed on their drop-down menu thingy of course.
Speak to the insurance company, ask what to do and whether they will give you a premium reduction if you get the security in a month or so instead, but it's not worth it for the sake of £50.
Cheers. . ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

Agree with Paulington.
Plus, it really doesn't make a difference. I have a Xena disk lock alarm. Just for curiosity's sake, I just did a quote with the xena disk lock, and then another with the Almax Series 4 chain with the best squire lock.
Not a pennies difference mate.
EDIT: for you good sir. |
