I only saw the first part, which was *amazing* (I've only just started following bike racing after years of watching F1... quite difference! Laughing ) but because BBC just had to show a repeat of Eastenders I didn't get to see the restart. Who won? Did I miss anything amazing?

Rossi won after the race was stopped with 6 laps to go due to rain failing & all the racers were out on slicks.

The race restarted after about 20 mins with the positions of how the stopped race ended giving the grid positions for the restart.

Rossi was on pole for the restart.

The bikes came out with some on treaded tyres, others sticking with slicks as the rain had stopped. Lining up on the grid certain racers i.e Gibernau swapped his tyres for slicks while others just kept the tyre warmers on until the last minute.

2 warm up laps commenced & on the final warm up lap Jeremy McWilliams dived into the pits to swap onto a spare bike which was prepped with treaded tyres as the rain had begun to fall again. McWilliams had to start from the end of Pit Lane.

The 1st corner was the worse affected area on the track for rain & in places looked quite treacherous but all the riders safely got round the track.

Loads of overtaking with Ruben Xaus taking no crap off any of the `big` names & flew past a load of them & was leading at one point.Even Shakey Byrne was stuffing it up the inside & outside of Capirossi.

The rain stopped but the track remained damp but not a single high-side was to be seen. Eventually Rossi opened up a little gap between him & Gibernau with a lap & a half to go but Gibernau pushed until he was really close but Rossi had enough of a lead to power over the line to take his 2nd win of the season.

Best race I've seen in a long, long time & it just shows how crap F1 is now & how much it's turned into a `Lets follow the red car procession`. Middle Finger

If you get the chance then watch the highlights at some point as you won't be disappointed. Top stuff. Razz

Best race I have seen in a long time. I knew Rossi would come out on top. Although it did'nt look that way in the second part of the race. Thumbs Up

<EDIT> Did anyone see Rossi, "testing the water?" Laughing

so what happened to Gibernau? Did he finish quite far down the field thanks to his tyre choice? Quite a shame given the great race he had in the first part...

Gibernau finished 2nd to Rossi.

All the top finishers went back out on slicks even though it slowed their pace slightly. As the track dried when the race stopped the grip came back to the tyres.

Basically it all boiled down to who had the biggest Cahunas in the wet.

Loply - I think Rossi thought he was gonna lose the rear end & backed off the throttle & thought having his foot out my stop him from losing it totally, balance wise.

And, for those who didn't see it Shinya Nakano produced a heart stopping moment when the rear tyre exploded on his bike whilst doing 200mph Confused

Thankfully he was relatively unscathed (although he was stretchered back to the pits). Apparantly the distance that he tumbled up the tarmac was in excess of 500 metres - You've gotta take your hats off to these Boys Thumbs Up
