Hugger of trees and lesbians, Chris Huhne, is to appear in court charged with perverting the course of justice:-

The funniest bit for me is his ex-wife clearly trying to stitch him up, but apparently being too bloody dim to realise that she was incriminating herself as well.

Well, let me summarise them for you:

Sadly though, he can scoop a £17K jackpot just for resigning. Still, being an honourable chap, I'm sure he'll refuse to take it, right? Right?

Quite like the chap tbh, seems bad he has had to resign, even though he has not been found guilty.

Ffs its 3 points on his license, not burrying a body for someone.

no it isn't? It's the whole issue of trying to cover it up.

Prosecution and resignation is a great result.

And he was prepared to pervert the course of justice over it. What would he do to cover up all those prostitutes that he possibly hasn't murdered?

In fairness he's not the first person to try and shift points, and he wont be the last.

As it goes I have an NIP for 36 in a 30 in front of me now.....any takers?

hehe Cool

So uhhh... is the right honourable member for Eastleigh in favour of raising the speed limit to 80mph? Laughing

I don't have a problem with Chris Huhne though, he does seem like a genuinely nice guy. But, he did also claim that our energy bills would be reduced by 7% despite oil and gas prices going up, his reasoning being that we would buy less oil and gas and so the bills would go down... which is pretty much taking the p1ss Laughing

It would seem that Chris Huhne has had a change of heart:-

But he is now under no illusions about the type of sentence he shall receive (2 weeks jail, suspended for a year)

Let it drag through the courts and cost the tax payer loads and loads then finally admin you're guilty when you've been proven as such without a reasonable doubt

Yes, very honourable indeed Rolling Eyes

The guy is a scum-bag.

It's one thing to get the missus to take the points. It is another to take it all the way through the courts, right up to just a week ago and then to fess-up.

He should go-down for at least six month inside, not 6 month's sentence serving just a fortnight at Ford Open and the rest out early for good behaviour!

I'd be amazed, absolutely astounded, if he does any time at all. Either suspended sentence or a community order of some description are my best guess.

Tariff should start with custody, but I agree that it'll be suspended.

Worst case, he'll do three months (i.e. 6 week) at a check-in-check-out open "prison".

You have to love the UK.

War crimes and fabricated '45 minutes' evidence = no jail.
Get your missus to take 3 points = OMG OH NOEZ!!! Burn him!

A typical politician though, isn't he?

Didn't realise until I read it in the paper today - he lost his licence anyway; got caught using his mobile about a month after the speeding NIP incident in 2003, so it was all for nothing Laughing

Ha, crime doesn't pay!

I mean, unless you do all your travelling on expenses and get away with it for a decade.

Then it pays pretty well, by the hour.

Huhne had a majority of 3,864 in 2010, should be a good scrap if ukip put up a candidate.

If ukip put a candidate there will be no scrap at all. Tories vs Lib Dem and the Tories will win, Tories vs Lib Dem vs ukip and Lib Dem will win because the Conservative vote will be split between blue and purple...

Pryce: 'Huhne Forced Me To Have Abortion'

And when it rains, it really does. Especially when your ex wife seems to be a rather vindictive lady (with reason, if what is coming out is anything to go by).

He'll probably be pleased to go to jail to get out of the limelight. Laughing
