Hi I'm fifty and just got my licence back after sending off for new picture. I have not passed my test on a bike but have been driving 33 years. The paper part of my licence says I have a provisional entitlement for A and GH but my card part does not have the normal dates(to and from) next to A . They start from B1 what's that all about?
Got my CBT on Saturday weather permitting so wanting to check. Bloody confusing Neutral

Ok the provisional bit is the bit that allows you on a bike, to do the CBt which allows you on the road yourself. Basically if you've no entitlement it's likley it's cus your banned/ not entitled for some reason or other, and therefor not allowed even on CBt.

The dates only showed up on my licence after I passed my tests.

You're fine. The DVLA changed this recently because, well, they can.

Photo licenses now list all of the available categories, even ones that you don't have. If there's no dates on that row, you don't have that category.

The counterpart (while we still have it) is used to list provisional entitlement, so if that shows that you have provisional A, you're good to go for the CBT.

Wrap up warm. Wink

Sorry to hear that it was cancelled, but at least it wasn't your mod 2, given the new rules about to kick in after tomorrow.

I thought you didn't need a cbt to ride a 50cc if you passed your car licence before 2001?

ahh EDIT..... I see OP is doing bike test so different rule apply
