I'm frankly beyond caring about the impending Jan 19th. Fuk all chances of a test for me this week so just going to look foreward to the end of the matter and no more agonising.

Fuck the 19th Smile

Hear hear. My attitude is now, 'There was never an easy option. I want to ride a bike. I know what I need to do.'

These problems are put here to try us....if things were easy, it wouldn't be so exciting when we overcome them.

You'll get your licence at some point....keep going.

Exactly, it could worse, the government could decide to bring bike tax in line with car tax or insurers charge what car drivers get charged or any number of other extras.

Fact is if I had got the urge to get a bike a year earlier I would have a licence by now and not be caring and if I had decided a year later to get a bike I wouldent be caring about the new rules either, I just hit the un-sweetspot.

If i had got my full licence back in the 70's when I was riding last it would have been a piece of p*ss and only cost me £15! How times change. Rolling Eyes

Chin up at least being older means insurance is cheaper. I can run a car and a bike on less than it would cost a twenty year old to insure a pogostick Smile

In some ways theres not a lot you could have done in your situation....just bad luck regards your Mod2.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing though...and looking back im sure you wish you wouldnt have left it 6 months to take your theory test after your CBT in march...THAT decision is unfortunately the one thats cost you.

Thirty years driving made me forget about the theory test as they didn't do that back when I did my driving test and also getting bad advice that the Jan19th rule change only affected under 24s. In fact I would never have known the rules were changing at all if I hadn't joined BCF. So I wonder how many 125ers are riding around simerlerly ignorent.

Ah bummer dude, sorry to hear that. What's your plan of action now? Are you gonna go through all the new tests or just wait until your 24? How old are you?

You mean you can't restrict it yourself.... really?

You don't get ripped off if you spend 20 minutes measuring and making your own or ebaying some.

You need a dyno cirtificate which can't do yourself. So if your going to restrict you might as well just pay a decent garage to do it.

I thought dyno certificates weren't good enough? Last thing I read said you needed a confirmation of restriction on letter-headed paper from a garage.

Which actually makes it easier to fake a restriction imho. Ten minutes in Microsoft Publisher and hey presto, suddenly your bike makes 25hp! Or 44hp. Or whatever the hell the limits are I can't even remember them.
