I have a spare set of 17 inch rims from a GPR125.

110/70/17 and 130/70/17 are they tyres that fit on no issues.

You reckon I can get the spacers/relevant stuff and use them?

This is on my WR450F Thumbs Up

suppose it depends on if the rear sprocket and disc line up for the rear and if the disc on the front lines up with the wheel in the centre of the forks.

Spindle diameters may be different which makes it awkward, but you can get different ID sized bearings for the wheel to allow for them.

Im looking to sort some sumo wheels for my new CRF at the minute.
Bloody expensive, even second hand. For new talon/exel sumo wheels your talking £1000. Not much less than the bike is worth Laughing

You can get spacers made up, why not?

Might have to faff with disc spacing though.

You only 'need' spoked wheels if you're doing proper supermoto - with dirt sections and jumps etc (though blokey on a SV650 seemed to manage fine for the weekend he was racing.)

Anyway, if you can make everything match up, should be fine.
If your spindles are smaller than the wheel takes, it's probably easier to get smaller bearings for the wheel than to make shimming spacers.

I'll get some measurements and the like over the weekend.

I'm quite happy to get different bearings, just fancy the option of going from off road to sumo in minimal time.

In terms of the brakes... Could I possibly make brackets for the calipers or is it worth me finding suitably fitting disks?

You'll need to make a bracket for the brakes regardless.
It's not uncommon for people to make these just from a block of steel cut/ground and drilled.

The rear can get more interesting - it might be easier to get a disc made up to fit the existing calliper, depending on how it's secured.
Various places like ABE should be able to make you a disc up to your specs.

Try this place for your SM needs https://supermoto.co.uk/wheels.html

Even if the hubs are sold as Talon hubs for the WR series, Talon have told me that each one has a serial number stamped on them.Just phone Talon Eng and they will say whether they will fit your bike or not.

As for spacers Paddy,You can use my lathe if you can find the material.

Talon Eng sell caliper adapters for differant size discs. My bracket came with the 320mm disc and a set of pads for £95 from Central Wheels a few years ago,the kit being sold specifically for the XR400R.
