Thinking about purchasing a Suzuki DR 125 SM. Been reading reviews and there mixed reviews from non bikers.

So I would like some help deciding on whetherit's a good bike as whole and i wouldn't mind some bad points if there any.

Many thanks,

John

Good reliable bike but you are never going to set the world on fire with a DR 125
I had an earlier DR 125 and it never let me down.
Was very easy to work on, but mine was a carb model?
With the exception of the CZ 125, all the stroker 125`s would leave it for dead at the lights.
On the other hand, I never had to rebuild my engine Smile Thumbs Up

Mine was quicker than the Honda xl 125 but only just.

I'v still got a DR125SM on a '11 plate. It has amazing brakes but is one of the slower 4T 125's out there. What do you want to know about it? I covered 3000 miles on the back of one so I got to know the bike pretty well.

I'm another owner - It's my first bike so I'm perhaps viewing it with an appropriate fondness! Its a K9/2009.

The fuel economy is over 100mpg and it's reliable, it also looks good. Manuals are still hard to come by, I managed to get a dealer service manual off ebay for £28 odd though.

If you're getting fed up stuck behind someone at 27mph you need quite a bit of space to overtake though, that should give you the picture with its power.

I'm on a 2 year restricted licence and have no problem sticking with it for the duration - I might even be tempted to keep it if I get a bigger bike.
