Cheap boots, worth a punt?

Ive been using some pretty naff boots i got about a year ago for £35. They are comfortable but dont go very high up my leg, and the armour is more just 'padding'.
Been looking at these:

Are they just cheap because they arent a known brand?

I can only say when you find ebay boots you like buy two pair. Ive had mixed results. I have rather long narrow feet that are a size thirteen long but a ten wide. It tends to be a lottery really. I just croche bits of other sock onto my riding socks, to make a good fit.

I had a pair of (ahem) cruiser style boots from the same make when I had teh ghey. (I got better though). I sold them on ebay afterwards and got £20 for them. I had owned them for a year, rode all winter with them and they stayed waterproof. Were not the most comfortable of things but they worked.

I got the ones in your first link just to get me through winter , can't fault them at all ! I've even been walking to work in them this week as I'm arsed with getting wet feet in my trainers !
