I take it you're referring to the revision number? If they clearly stated revision-2 you're entitled to an exchange with all postage costs covered (including the cost of returning it to them). By law.

Of course, they've sent you the wrong item.

I recently had the same with a tool that I ordered. I got sent the wrong size, making it useless. Spoke to the company, got a return envelope sent out with a return code on it, put the item in, sent it back to the company. Job done. They even sent me my replacement item before I sent them my item back. Thumbs Up

Anything you buy over the internet is subject to the distant selling regs anyway, giving you 14 days to return it.

Email the company. Thumbs Up

thanks guys, guess that clears it up, i have emailed their support. i have ordered stuff once before and it was fine, although i have heard lots of people call them scam because they are crap but so far at least last time they where fine, i think i will look at other places next time such as ebuyer or novatech as they have let me down this time, especially seen as on the website it says that its a r2 board and even on the invoice aswell Confused

theres an r3 just released so im tempted just to ask for a refund or ask for teh r3 if they have it yet

Thumbs Up

Scan is a private small company, they only have a handful of employees and if I recall they are family owned.

Give them a break.

Yes you can return it for the R2. And your entitled to it and I would go for it. But their RMA can be a little slow.

That's quite shocking. I'm amazed a company that would do things like that has survived to this day.

I have ordered several times from Scan in the past and always pretty good. Not the cheapest for parts but customer service and delivery has always been perfectly good.

They are not a small company by any means.

Scan is usually fine.
OCUK are more expensive but they know what they are doing. I remember going to their retail outlet to pick something up and they were really busy. This was 5+ years ago and they have got bigger since.

I use Ebuyer, Dabs and bought my AIO watercoolor from OCUK.
It had to get returned cos the rad fans were damaged.

Ebuyer are fucking awesome though.
Order @ 9pm on a Friday and it still arrives on a Saturday, providing you pay for Saturday delivery.

Big fucking whoop, so they have more than a handful. Does it make you feel big and powerful taking the piss outta someone because they got 1 out of 2 things wrong?

whoop-dee-fucking-doo.

Losers.

Scan are or at least were the largest computer seperates mail order company in europe.

They are still family run and i've used them without issue since the early 1990's. They are normally pretty quick to sort out problems but it is easier if you can pop into their warehouse in Bolton Smile

I may be able to help if needed as I work on the same industrial estate as Scan.

Scan definitely aren't a small company, have you been to their main place near the Reebok Stadium? It's huge!

https://goo.gl/maps/DWcMs

Only 15 mins away from me but I rarely go down there, just get next day delivery.

I've used Scan for years, never had an issue with anything I've bought from them. all good quality components.

If you have a problem, contact them and get it sorted. bitching about it on here will do nothing.

Be grateful you weren't using them about 15 years ago, they were one of the most underhand, guarantee/warranty cheating scumbag companies in the IT market. Owned and run by an iranian cunt (Mr Aria).

Interesting.

Mr Aria is not from aria.co.uk rather than Scan?

DSR is 7 days from the day after you recieve the item.

You have to reject it in that period.

I have used scan a fair bit recently, and everything has been cool Thumbs Up

I normally use either Amazon or Dabs, OC UK is expensive and they customer service is terrible.
