engine cutting out

hi guys. i have a '98 rs 125. I went to ride it to work earlier, and as i accelerated the bike seemed like it was trying to cut out, i managed to get to about 30mph, then as more throttle is is given revs start to drop off, but then when i roll off the throttle the revs pick up again. Now, once started as soon as i accelerate to pull away it cuts out compltely.
Just wondering if anyone has come across this sort thing before or knew what the problem is likely to be?

a friend at work said it sounded like it could be that, but i have no idea where to start looking

wonder if people can help i have a cb125 super dream fitted with a 233 bentley engine i cant get it to run on the honda cb125 cdi's any idea were i can get a set of cdi for that engine or how i could get it to run with that engine
